The hotel was built by El Guardian, a Cuban company, whose president was Mr. Perfecto Lopez and Mr. Felipe Beltran its manager. The Arellano and Mendoza Company carried out the expansion works.

Architect Jose Troya and engineer Aurelio Sandoval drafted the original project (according to Juan Troya); however, hotel sources indicate that it was the work of Antonio and Jose Rodriguez.
The owners of the Hotel Inglaterra were Manuel Lopez and Urbano Gonzalez
